The DOOR Power Switch is a wired, in-wall smart switch that turns a light or fixture on and off (it does not dim) from the wall, the DOOR App, and schedules. Like every DOOR Smart Home device, it connects through the DOOR Hub rather than joining WiFi directly — a Hub must be installed and online for app control and remote access.
If you need to dim a light, use the DOOR Dimmer Switch instead. The Power Switch is the on/off counterpart.
What the DOOR Power Switch controls
- On/off of the connected fixture, from the wall switch or the DOOR App.
- Schedules and a timer — up to 6 device-based schedules plus a single-use countdown timer, both of which run without internet.
- Two programmable buttons with tap and long-press actions, each with its own feedback LED.
- After a power outage or firmware update, it restores its last state.
What it works with
The Power Switch controls LED, CFL/fluorescent, halogen, and incandescent fixtures, on/off, within these limits:
| Parameter | Limit |
|---|---|
| Maximum output current | 5 A |
| Maximum load | ≤ 600 W (resistive) |
| LED / CFL maximum | 150 W |
| Incandescent maximum | 450 W |
What it needs to work
- A neutral wire. The Power Switch will not function without a neutral wire. If the box has no neutral, a qualified electrician must add one.
- 120 VAC, 60 Hz power. Indoor locations only.
- A DOOR Hub online for app control, schedules-by-app, alerts, and remote access.
3-way (two-location) control
The Power Switch is not compatible with traditional 3-way wiring. To control one fixture from two locations, use two DOOR switches wired as standard switches and paired locally with Control-D2D pairing — no DOOR App needed for the pairing itself. See 3-Way Switch Configuration for DOOR Dimmer & Power Switch.
Status LEDs
The Switch Button's status LED is green when on and red when off (it blinks during Control-D2D pairing/unpairing). Each programmable button blinks its LED green on a tap and red on a long press.
