Trim spacing — when to use 4" CTC vs 5.5" CTC
The Interconnect is offered in two center-to-center trim spacings. The center-to-center measurement is the distance between the deadbolt and the latchbolt on the door edge:
4" CTC: tighter spacing, fits narrower retrofits and certain existing mortise preps
5.5" CTC: standard spacing for most commercial multifamily doors
The CTC variant must match the existing door preparation. Measure the door before ordering — the wrong CTC will not fit. Cut sheet templates are available for both spacings (links in the install article).
The Interconnect Lens provides visual feedback after a credential is presented. There are three confirmed states:
Spins in a circular pattern: credential accepted — the lock has unlocked
Flashes: credential rejected (invalid doorcode, expired key, out of schedule, or unrecognized Keycard)
Does not light up: batteries are depleted — replace the 4 AA alkaline batteries, or use the mechanical key
DOOR does not publish a documented list of LED or beep error codes for the Interconnect. If a behavior other than the three above is observed, capture a short video and escalate to support@door.com.
