You can invite guests to access your doors directly from the DOOR App. Guests receive either a door app invitation or a daily doorcode — you choose whichever works best for their visit.
About this feature
DOOR App access sends your guest an email invitation to download and sign in to the DOOR App. Once accepted, they can unlock your doors via Bluetooth for as long as you grant access — from a few hours to permanently, until you revoke it.
Daily doorcodes give your guest a time-limited 7-digit code they can enter at the lock without the DOOR App — useful for guests without smartphones or for short-notice visits.
Guest access shows in your access history, so you can see when they unlock.
Before you start
- You must have access to the door in the DOOR App.
- For guests who will use a doorcode on a non-internet-connected door, perform a Door Sync after sending the invitation.
Inviting a guest with DOOR App access
- Open the DOOR App and go to Access.
- Tap Guests, then tap Add Guest +.
- Tap Send App Access.
- Select the doors you want to grant access to and tap Next.
- Set a start time.
- To set an end time, toggle Set end time and choose when access expires. Leave this off for permanent access until you revoke it manually.
- Enter your guest's email address. To invite multiple guests at once, tap Add guest and enter additional addresses.
- Review the details and tap Continue.
Your guest receives an email from no-reply@door.com with a link to download the DOOR App and sign in.
Note: If your guest plans to use a doorcode before their first app unlock, perform a Door Sync after sending the invitation. The door syncs automatically the first time your guest unlocks via the app.
Inviting a guest with a daily doorcode
Daily doorcodes are time-limited: they expire at midnight tonight or at midnight tomorrow.
- Open the DOOR App and go to Access.
- Tap Guests, then tap Add Guest +.
- Tap Send doorcode.
- Select the doors you want to share.
- Tap Today (expires at midnight tonight) or Tomorrow (expires at midnight the following night).
- Enter your guest's phone number or email address. To invite multiple guests, tap Add guest.
- Review and tap Continue.
Your guest receives a text or email with their doorcode.
Note: Extending the deadbolt on a Latch M disables daily and 15-minute doorcodes until the deadbolt is retracted.
