I'm a property manager — how do I switch from Latch to DOOR?

DOOR replaces the Latch App, Latch Manager App, and Latch Mission Control with a single integrated platform. Property managers now use the DOOR App for on-the-go tasks and DOOR OS (the web app at app.door.com) for administrative work. Your existing Latch credentials, accounts, permissions, and access rules carry over — nothing for residents or staff changes at the account level. Latch locks stay as they are; DOOR runs on the same hardware.

The DOOR App shows PM functionality (activations, device management, issuing access on the go) to accounts with manager permissions — residents and PMs both use the same app, with different capabilities based on the account.

Do I need to wait for a migration invitation?

No. You can switch any time by downloading the DOOR App and logging in to DOOR OS with your existing Latch credentials. DOOR recommends moving now to take advantage of current and upcoming features; access to Latch products is being discontinued on a rolling basis as properties migrate.

Will any staff or residents lose access during the switch?

No. Accounts, access, and permissions are preserved. Residents keep the same login, the same doorcodes, and the same doors. Managers keep the same permission scope.

Will my Latch locks be affected?

No. Latch remains the hardware brand for DOOR's lock line. The DOOR App and DOOR OS work with your existing Latch devices.

How do I sign in?

Use your existing Latch email and password. No new account and no password reset are required.

  • Residents and most property managers: sign in with email + password on DOOR OS or the DOOR App login screen.
  • SSO: If your property has SSO enabled for manager accounts, tap Login with SSO on the sign-in screen. SSO is a manager-only option; do not direct residents to it.

If you've forgotten your password, use Forgot Password on the login screen.

What Latch products or features are NOT yet supported in DOOR?

The following features continue to run on Latch Mission Control / Latch Manager App / Latch App until they are brought over to DOOR. Do not retire your Latch logins while these dependencies exist:

  • Third-party smart home devices (Honeywell, Nest, Ecobee, etc.). Only DOOR Smart Home devices are supported in DOOR OS and the DOOR App. Third-party devices continue to be managed through Latch Mission Control and the Latch App — or through the device vendor's own app.
  • Bookings. The initial release of DOOR OS does not support amenity bookings. Continue to manage bookings through Latch Mission Control and the Latch App.

Any other day-to-day PM work — access, keys, residents, activations, device management for DOOR Smart Home — runs in DOOR.

Getting started checklist for property managers

  1. Install the DOOR App on your mobile device and sign in with your Latch credentials.
  2. Sign in to DOOR OS at app.door.com on your computer.
  3. Confirm your permissions carried over. Open the property — if you cannot see Key Management, Device Management, or Portfolio settings you had in Latch, contact a Portfolio Manager at your organization to re-grant them.
  4. Invite your residents using the Resident Resource: Migration E-mail Template.
  5. Keep Latch Mission Control and the Latch Manager App installed until bookings (and any third-party smart home devices you use) are supported in DOOR.
  6. Bookmark DOOR Training and Resources for ongoing learning.

When to contact DOOR support

Email support@door.com if:

  • Your Latch credentials do not sign you in to DOOR OS or the DOOR App.
  • Permissions you had in Latch Mission Control do not appear in DOOR OS and your Portfolio Manager cannot locate them.
  • Specific PM features you used in Mission Control are missing from DOOR OS and you cannot tell whether they are unsupported (see the "NOT yet supported" section) or misconfigured.
  • You need guidance sequencing your property's migration (resident communication timing, device re-activation, bookings cut-over, etc.).
