The DOOR App combines what used to be the Latch App and the Latch Manager App into a single mobile experience. As a property manager, you use the same app residents use, with extra sections that handle the device activation, firmware upgrades, package scanning, and configuration that previously lived in the Latch Manager App. This article walks through what's where in the property-manager view of the DOOR App.
For an orientation to the desktop side (DOOR OS replacing Mission Control), see Get to know DOOR OS (for ex-Latch property teams).
About this feature
The DOOR App is the unified mobile experience for everyone connected to a property — residents, managers, and staff. When you sign in with a manager account, the app exposes additional sections beyond what residents see:
- Building selection at the top of the home screen lets you switch between properties or portfolios you manage.
- Devices section in the bottom navigation includes manager-only flows for activating, managing, and maintaining hardware (locks, intercoms, cameras, smart home devices).
- Home screen widgets for fast access to common manager actions (scan packages, add a device, check device status).
Residents do not see the Devices section — only managers do.
Home screen layout
| Section | What you'll find |
|---|---|
| Building selection (top) | Tap to switch between properties/portfolios when you manage more than one |
| Notifications bell (top-right) | Smart Home device alerts, customizable per channel |
| Profile picture (top-right) | Edit name and photo, contact support, log out |
| Access | Doors assigned to your account (if any) — tap to unlock |
| Devices | Manager-only — Doors and Controls tabs for property hardware |
| Services | Resident services (Concierge Pro, HelloTech bookings) |
| Home screen widgets | Access, Scan Package, Devices, Locks, Services |
The bottom navigation provides quick access to Home, Access, and other primary areas.
Access section
Doors assigned to your account appear in Access with an Unlock button. Tap to unlock via Bluetooth. New features:
- iOS Shortcuts for hands-free unlocking.
- Shorter doorcodes on supported residential doors when enabled by the property.
- Reset your doorcode directly in the app.
If you don't have any doors assigned, the Access section displays a message indicating so.
Devices section (manager-only)
The Devices section is where the Latch Manager App functionality lives in the DOOR App. Two tabs:
- Doors — locks, intercoms, and cameras at your property. Tap a door to open Door Sync, Firmware Upgrade, device details, history, and other settings. When a lock has a pending sync, the Pending lock updates option appears at the top of the listed doors.
- Controls — DOOR Smart Home devices. Lists units in the property; tap a unit to see the Smart Home devices assigned to it. Tapping a Smart Home device shows the dashboard with details, history, and settings (including deactivate).
To activate new hardware, tap Add a Device in the Devices section. This starts the activation flow for locks, Smart Home devices, the Latch Intercom, or a Latch Camera.
Door Services
The DOOR App also surfaces resident-level services like furniture assembly, handyman work, and TV mounting. Property managers see the same Services tile as residents. For an overview, see DOOR Services — overview and FAQ.
Home screen widgets
The home screen surfaces widgets for the most-used manager actions:
- Access — unlock doors with one tap.
- Scan Package — take a picture (or pick from gallery) to log a package and assign it to a unit/user.
- Devices — quick access to add a new device by scanning the QR code or entering a serial number.
- Locks — shows a table of locks with three columns: Sync (pending syncs), Upgrade (pending firmware upgrades), and Low battery.
- Services — quick access to Book a Service.
How the DOOR App differs from the Latch Manager App
- One app, not two. Latch and Latch Manager are unified.
- Devices tab structure. Doors (locks, intercoms, cameras) and Controls (Smart Home) are separate tabs in the DOOR App.
- Pending lock updates (pending syncs only) are surfaced at the top of the Doors list — easier to spot than in the old Manager App.
