How the call flow works
- A visitor scans the DOOR Link QR code with any phone camera — no app required on the visitor's side
- The visitor's phone opens a DOOR web page showing a directory of units and residents
- The visitor selects a resident from the directory and places a call
- The resident receives the call in their DOOR app
- The resident chooses to generate a daily doorcode
- The daily doorcode appears on the visitor's screen
- The visitor enters the doorcode on the Latch lock at that entry point to gain access
The daily doorcode is single-use per day and is specific to the door associated with the DOOR Link. It expires at the end of the day.
Directory requirements
For a resident to appear in the DOOR Link directory:
- The resident is assigned to a unit in the property
- The resident has key access to the door paired with the DOOR Link
- The resident has Show in intercom enabled in their account settings
To verify or update: DOOR OS → People → resident → Edit → confirm unit assignment, key access to the door, and intercom visibility setting.
Directory changes propagate within a few minutes of being saved in DOOR OS.
Rotating the QR code
Rotate the QR code if the sticker is damaged, vandalized, or if you suspect the code is being misused. The old code stops working immediately when a new one is generated.
- DOOR OS → Access → Doors → open the door linked to the DOOR Link
- Click the DOOR Link sub-tab → Actions → Change QR Code
- Print the new sticker immediately: Actions → Print QR Code Stickers
- Replace the sticker on the DOOR Link panel as soon as possible — the old sticker will not function
