Installing DOOR Link

Setting up DOOR Link has two parts: linking the QR panel to a door in DOOR OS and physically mounting the panel. There is no wiring, no power, and no pairing process — DOOR Link is a passive panel.

Before you begin

  • You have property manager access or above in DOOR OS
  • The door entry point already has a Latch lock installed (visitors will enter the doorcode on that lock)
  • You have the DOOR Link panel
  • The mounting surface is flat, clean, and non-porous (painted drywall, concrete, metal, tile)

Step 1 — Link DOOR Link to a door in DOOR OS

  1. Log in to DOOR OSAccessDoors
  2. Open the door where the DOOR Link will be mounted
  3. Click Edit → open the Intercom section → enable DOOR Link
  4. Complete the information requested to link the DOOR Link to this door
  5. Click Save

Step 2 — Print the QR code sticker

  1. On the door's page, click the DOOR Link sub-tab → ActionsPrint QR Code Stickers
  2. Print at the size indicated — the QR code must fit the DOOR Link panel precisely
  3. Apply the sticker to the DOOR Link face before mounting

Step 3 — Mount the DOOR Link panel

  1. Clean the mounting surface with isopropyl alcohol and let it dry completely
  2. Position the panel at eye level, centered on the surface
  3. Peel the VHB backing and press the panel firmly against the surface for 60 seconds
  4. Full VHB bond strength is reached after 24–72 hours — avoid stress on the unit during this period

Step 4 — Confirm residents appear in the directory

Residents appear in the DOOR Link directory when:

  • They are assigned to a unit in the property
  • They have key access to the door paired with the DOOR Link
  • They have Show in intercom enabled in their account settings

To verify: DOOR OS → People → resident → Edit → confirm unit assignment, key access to the door, and intercom visibility setting.

Step 5 — Test

  • Scan the QR code with a phone — confirm the DOOR web directory page opens
  • Select a resident and place a test call — confirm they receive it in the DOOR app
  • Confirm the resident can generate a daily doorcode during the call and it appears on the caller's screen
  • Enter the doorcode on the Latch lock — confirm it unlocks

If you need to remove DOOR Link

Because DOOR Link uses VHB tape, removal requires care to avoid wall damage:

  1. Heat the adhesive with a hairdryer on max heat aimed at a tape edge for 90 seconds
  2. While wearing gloves, pull the panel away from the wall slowly and steadily
  3. If resistance is high, reheat and try again — do not force it
  4. Remove residual adhesive with 3M Adhesive Remover (citrus-based) or Goo Gone, using a plastic scraper and clean towel
  5. Repeat as needed until the surface is clean

Replacing a damaged or vandalized DOOR Link

No replacement parts are sold individually. Contact your DOOR sales rep to order a replacement panel.

If only the QR code sticker is damaged or compromised, rotate the QR code without replacing the hardware — see DOOR Link operation — call flow and directory.
