On Android, you can add a DOOR widget to your home screen so you can unlock a door without opening the app every time. The setup is the same across Android devices: add the widget → select DOOR App → tap the widget's setup message → choose the doors you want on it. If the widget isn't appearing in your phone's widget menu, the most common cause is that you haven't opened and signed in to the DOOR App yet, or your doors haven't fully loaded into the app.
Before you start
- The DOOR App is installed and updated to the latest version on your Android phone.
- You have signed in to the DOOR App at least once.
- Your doors appear in the DOOR App under Access. If they don't, the widget cannot be configured for them — see I don't see my doors in the DOOR App — what do I do? first.
How do I add the DOOR widget?
- On your Android home screen, tap and hold on an empty area until the home screen enters edit mode and the widget menu appears.
- Open the Widgets menu.
- Find DOOR App in the widget list.
- Drag or tap the widget to add it to your home screen.
- Once placed, the widget displays a setup message. Tap the widget to open DOOR App widget configuration.
- Select the doors you want to appear on the widget, and confirm.
The widget now shows your selected doors on the home screen, and you can unlock from there without opening the app first.
The DOOR widget isn't showing in the widget menu
If you don't see DOOR App as an option when you open the widget menu, the most common cause is that the DOOR App hasn't been opened, signed in to, and fully loaded yet on this phone. Walk through:
- Open the DOOR App and sign in with your DOOR account.
- Confirm your doors appear under the Access tab. The widget reads its door list from the app, so if no doors show in the app, the widget has nothing to configure.
- Update the DOOR App if you are not on the latest version (Play Store → DOOR App → Update).
- Restart your phone. Some Android builds only refresh the widget list on reboot.
- Open the widget menu again and look for DOOR App.

The widget appears but tapping it doesn't unlock
The widget relies on the same unlock flow as the DOOR App itself. If the widget isn't unlocking, the usual suspects apply:
- Bluetooth and Location are on, with permission granted to the DOOR App.
- You are within Bluetooth range of the door (~3 m / 10 ft).
- Your access is active on the door in the DOOR App's Access tab.
- The DOOR App is signed in (if signed out, the widget can't authenticate).

When to escalate
Contact your property management team if:
- You cannot sign in to the DOOR App, or your doors aren't appearing there (the widget can't surface doors the app doesn't have).
- You believe your access has been removed or never assigned.
Contact DOOR Support if:
- You have signed in, the DOOR App shows your doors, you have restarted the phone, and the DOOR widget still doesn't appear in the Android widget menu.
- The widget appears and opens correctly, but unlock consistently fails from it while in-app unlock works at the same door.
Include: your Android device model and OS version, the DOOR App version, and whether in-app unlock works at the same door.
