DOOR Thermostat operation and scheduling

You control the DOOR Thermostat from the DOOR App or directly on the device. This article covers setting the temperature and mode, building a schedule, using ECO mode, and what happens when the Hub or internet is offline. The Thermostat reports to the app through the DOOR Hub, but its HVAC control and schedules run locally, so it keeps heating and cooling even when the app can't reach it.

About this feature

In the DOOR App, the Thermostat appears under Devices → Controls, listed under its Unit. Tapping it opens a dashboard with the temperature menu, modes, and schedule, plus the current running state, connection status, and humidity. On the device itself, the LCD and buttons give you the same core controls.

Setting temperature and mode

  1. Open the DOOR AppDevicesControls → your Unit → your Thermostat.
  2. In the temperature menu, use the and arrows to set the target temperature.
  3. Choose a mode: Auto, Cool, Heat, or Eco.
  4. Set the fan to Auto (runs on demand) or On (runs continuously).

On the device, press the Mode button to cycle AUTO/HEAT/COOL/OFF, the Fan button to switch AUTO/ON, and the ▲/▼ buttons to change the setpoint.

Building a schedule

The Thermostat supports up to 4 schedule periods per day, each with its own heat and cool setpoints.

  1. In the Thermostat's dashboard, open Schedules.
  2. Customize the periods for different days and times to match your routine.
  3. Save. The schedule state shows RUN on the device when a schedule is active, or HOLD when you've overridden it with a manual setpoint.

Because schedules run locally on the device, they continue even if the Hub or internet connection drops.

Using ECO mode

ECO mode saves energy by automatically widening the heating and cooling limits by a 2 °F–9 °F offset. Turn it on from the mode menu, then set your cool and heat limits under Settings → ECO. An ECO leaf appears on the device display when it's active.

Other settings

  • Minimum running time — the shortest time the system runs each cycle, which protects the HVAC from short-cycling.
  • Alerts — enable separate temperature and humidity alerts, set the threshold ranges, and set the alert interval.
  • Time — sync the Thermostat's time zone with your phone.
  • Device Name — rename the Thermostat for clarity.

Viewing history

Under History, the Record Log lists recorded temperature and humidity changes over time, so you can spot trends.

What happens when it's offline

If the DOOR Hub or internet goes down, you lose app control and remote access, and the dashboard shows the Thermostat as Offline. The Thermostat itself keeps running your last setpoint and schedule, and you can still adjust it on the device. Control returns to the app once the Hub reconnects.

If it didn't work

  • Changes in the app don't take effect — confirm the Thermostat shows Online; if it's offline, adjust it on the device until the Hub reconnects.
  • The HVAC doesn't respond to a mode change — see DOOR Thermostat troubleshooting.
