Configuration platform requirements

  • Installation, activation, and on-device configuration: the DOOR app on iOS or Android. The Latch Manager app referenced in the 2020 install PDF has been replaced by the DOOR app.
  • Day-to-day resident unlocks: DOOR app on iOS, watchOS, or Android.
  • Property-manager configuration of DSN, EFA, and Relock: DOOR appDevices → select the door → Settings. The phone must be within Bluetooth range of the R2 for configuration changes to apply (updates push to the device over BLE).

Reader behavior (indicator LEDs and buzzer)

The R2 has a touch-activated keypad with backlit keys and a set of indicator LEDs around the upper portion of the device. Behavior is documented in the R Series Installation Guide:

ConditionIndication
Normal standbyAll indicator LEDs off, keypad not illuminated
Keypad activeKeypad LEDs illuminated when a finger is detected on the touch surface
Authenticating userTop indicator LED illuminated
Access grantedAudible buzzer, all indicator LEDs illuminate and power down in a clockwise animation
Access deniedKeypad LEDs blink multiple times

The R2 is wired-powered. A device with all LEDs off and no response to keypad touch is unpowered, not asleep. There is no battery state to check.
