Using your DOOR Leak Detector and Leak Lasso

DOOR offers two water leak sensors: the Leak Detector (a spot sensor placed on the floor) and the Leak Lasso (a flexible rope sensor laid along a baseboard or around a pipe). Both detect water and send an alert to the DOOR App. This article covers using both devices.

About these devices

Leak Detector Leak Lasso
Form factor Small puck placed flat on the floor Flexible rope (loop it around a pipe or along a wall)

Beep alert No Yes — configurable

After a leak is detected, the sensor electrodes can corrode. Clean or replace the sensor after each leak event.

If you receive a leak alert

  1. Check the sensor location immediately.
  2. Identify and shut off the water source if possible (turn off the shut-off valve under the sink or the main water shut-off).
  3. Contact your property maintenance team — they can assess the source and respond.
  4. After the area is dry, clean the sensor probes with a dry cloth before placing it back in service.

Opening the device controls

  1. Open the DOOR App and tap the Controls tab.
  2. Tap the Leak Detector or Leak Lasso.
  3. Tap Open device settings.

Dashboard

Shows whether a leak is currently detected, along with:

  • Connection — Online or Offline
  • Last Updated — Most recent time the sensor reported
  • Battery (Leak Lasso includes a battery level indicator)

Settings

Alert interval

Set how often the app resends a notification if water is still detected. A shorter interval means more frequent reminders until the sensor is dry.

Beep (Leak Lasso only)

Toggle whether the Leak Lasso emits an audible beep when a leak is detected, in addition to the app notification.

History

The History tab shows a chronological log of all leak events and connection status changes.
